Start at the town square and speak to the Guide. Use WASD or click the ground to walk; on a phone, tap a destination. Open a character or object's action menu with a right-click, or a long press on touch. Left-clicking a monster attacks it, so choose your first opponent carefully.
Open Skills to see your training progress and the next things you can unlock. Each of the fourteen skills reaches level 99. A skill's level describes what you can do; combat level estimates fighting strength, and character experience comes from creatures.
As you outgrow a creature, its kill XP gradually falls to a minimum of 5%. Combat training also considers the skill you are practising, so learning beginner Archery can still be worthwhile on small creatures even if your Melee is high. Examine a monster to see your current kill and training XP percentages. Attack spells reward actual damage, not excess damage after a creature has run out of health. Loot and journal kills are unaffected.
Make your character your own: open Settings > Change outfit, or right-click your character and choose Change outfit. Preview tops, trousers, skirts and colours, then choose Wear outfit. Changes are free and can be made again later. Armour can cover your clothes; your equipment and combat stats stay the same.
Try one small goal first: gather materials, make an item, or learn your way around town. Save a guest character in Settings when you want to keep playing with an account, and keep your recovery code somewhere safe.
Grow your first garden
Build a bed on your plot, choose seeds, and grow flowers, vegetables or fruit. See every plant's level, cost and harvest.

Visit the dedicated Pet shop north of the bank in Pixlaria Town, across from the paint shop. Ask the Pet keeper to browse pets. A Shiba Inu costs 2,500 GC, a cat 1,000 GC, and a pet wolf 4,000 GC. Use the pet item in your bag to call your companion or send it home. Pets are companions, not combat upgrades; the general store no longer sells them.
Explore at your own pace
The Creature Journal in the game records monsters you have defeated. Caves become more dangerous as you head deeper, and distant regions have their own uncommon creatures. Travel with a friend when you want to try a harder fight, and leave space in your bag for the return journey.
A gold star above dropped loot marks a rare or exceptional item. Open the pile's menu to see the highlighted item near the top; normal ownership and protection rules still apply.
