Quest 9 of 10 in the Journal · From Maja, Innkeeper · Anderstorp

How to start

Talk to Maja, at the Alder Inn in southern Anderstorp, south of the bank and paint shop.

Click Maja, Innkeeper to talk (or right-click and choose Talk-to; on a phone, long-press), then choose “What did the old welcome sign say?”. “New quest”, the game says: your Journal and your Field notes keep track of it from then on.

What you need

  • 3 × Planks, 2 × Copper ore, 2 × Wild herbs.
  • Saw ordinary logs at a sawbench, mine copper with a pickaxe, and gather wild herbs from meadow patches at Foraging 20, or trade for the materials. Existing supplies count.
  • Talk to Maja at the Alder Inn, Nils just north of the bank, and Alva at the Dragon Field in Anderstorp. No flight or combat is required in the town.

Step by step

  1. A welcome worn away. Maja, the innkeeper at the Alder Inn in southern Anderstorp, is looking at an old sign the rain has nearly erased. Ask her what it used to say. This is a peaceful town story; bring supplies or trade for them, and take care on the journey to town.
  2. A painter remembers. Maja wants to restore her mother’s welcome sign. Ask Nils at the paint shop in northwest Anderstorp, just north of the bank. He painted it long ago.
  3. Words seen from the sky. Nils remembers the colour but not the words. Alva used the sign as a landmark when learning to land her dragon. Follow the paved path south from the green to her flying field and ask what she remembers. No flight is required.
  4. There is room for one more. Alva remembers the welcome: There is room for one more. Bring Nils 3 planks, 2 copper ore and 2 wild herbs to restore it. Saw ordinary logs at a sawbench, mine copper with a pickaxe, and gather wild herbs from meadow patches (Foraging 20), or trade for the materials. Ordinary carried supplies work; nothing must be gathered again.
  5. A welcome brought home. Nils has repaired the sign and will hang it at the inn himself. Return to Maja at the Alder Inn in southern Anderstorp and tell her the words Alva remembered. Keep room for three berry cuttings (one bag slot, or an existing stack).

What you get

How it ends

The Alder Inn welcomes travellers with its old words again: There is room for one more. Maja gave you berry cuttings from her mother’s garden to begin a welcome of your own.
