The world
The town of Pioneeria sits in the middle of a vast world: a square with market stalls and bunting, a long pier out over the lake, and roads to woods, hamlets and snowy peaks. Every town, village and road is laid out by hand, with wild country between them, and over the sea lie wilder lands still.
Towns and villages laid out by hand, wild country between them, and four wild lands and a dragons’ isle over the sea.
A twenty-minute day with a golden hour, a blue dusk, a short night of lanterns and fireflies, and a pink dawn.
One shared world: invite friends into a party, choose equipment for your combat role, and explore together. Every character can learn every skill.
Skills
Fifteen skills, each growing through practice up to level 99, all available to one character. Open Skills to see what you can do now, your next milestone and ways to earn from your work. Grow a garden on your plot: leave flowers blooming, harvest food and unlock new plants through Gardening. A tree shudders and sheds leaves at every stroke; the anvil throws sparks at every blow.
Catch shrimp with your starter net. At Fishing 40, take a sea rod out by boat and follow the gulls to deep-sea shoals.
Higher skills open resources, recipes and spells, or improve the work you already do. Later Carpentry milestones yield more material from the same logs.
Sell spare logs, catches and crafted goods to shops. Skills suggests useful equipment for your combat level and shows the prices to aim for.
Carpentry
Gather wood, saw it into planks and blocks, and put up a house of your own out in the wide world past the heartland, on land you claim with a stake. Signposted settlers' roads lead from town over long plank bridges to the Settlers' Meadows, level grass ringed with trees and a green with a sawbench, a bank chest and a campfire, with safe roads leading there. Houses are made from the same kit as the villages, so what you build looks like it belongs.
Start with ordinary trees and an axe. Oaks, willows and maples open as Woodcutting grows.
At the sawbench by the smithy, or one you build yourself.
Lay a plank floor, then stand walls, windows and a door on it.
Close a room in with walls and a roof grows over it by itself.
Town paint shops sell a familiar palette, with special local colours to discover farther afield. Paint walls piece by piece, or bring a ladder and use one pot to colour the whole roof.
Stools, tables, torches, chests that open your bank, and beds to rest in. Fences with garden gates, flower beds and lantern posts. At Carpentry 6, build a waystone. At Magic 14, say runa to return to it when you are out of combat; the spell has a three-minute cooldown.
Adventure
Danger grows with the distance from town: hoglets in the meadows, then beetles, wolves and cheeky goblin whelps, goblins round their camps, skeletons and trolls, cyclopes for real explorers. Across the water the goblins grow into brutes, led by old elders who cast. Caves go down into the dark, dragons sleep in lairs far away, and out in the deep desert an old king lies in his tomb. Over the sea, four wild lands hold the strongest creatures yet, level 105 to 150, and in the crater of Dragonspire Isle waits Ashcrown, eldest of the dragons.
“There are dragons in the dungeons! I have seen them! Be careful!”
Say them in chat, or press their key. Each school has a look of its own, and what you hold in your hands opens spells of its own.
Click a monster to attack; right-click for more options. Your character keeps fighting until you stop; press Escape to disengage. Multiple creatures can attack you at once, both above ground and in caves, including bosses and Wardens. Watch nearby enemies and keep a retreat route open. Creatures below half your Combat level leave you alone unless attacked, but a boss notices everyone. Strike a creature and it fights back, following you a little way past its own ground before it turns for home. On death, you wake in your hometown. Outside the PvP danger zone on Northreach Isle, you keep all your carried items and coins. Inside it, your bag is at risk. Worn equipment, tool belt, pet pouch and bank contents remain safe everywhere. No character experience, skill experience or levels are lost. What happens when you fall.
Town is a protection zone: a safe place to trade, bank and talk.
Pictures
Recorded in the playable alpha. Films and most pictures were captured on 20 September 2026; the deep-sea picture is from 19 September, the newest pictures from 3 October and the opening film from 4 October. Scenes are staged in the real game, with the interface hidden in films; building is shown at three times speed.
Beyond the familiar roads
The Mosslight Ways link three cave entrances east and south-east of Pioneeria. Follow the lamps to find another way out, or descend into optional chambers with stronger creatures and valuable ore. Two of the Ways’ mines are hunting caves: goblins round their elder in Mosslight Mine, cave trolls round theirs in Fernfall Hollow, and each elder mends its kin. Every cave’s floors open into more halls, with room to circle while you fight.
Farther afield, rare Briar stags shelter in damp woodlands and Shaleback beetles nest in dry hills. Their habitats reward searching, with clues in your Hunting Journal. Faraway caves also shelter baby moss and ember dragons. The remote Rimewild Reach and Sunscar Expanse hold rare Frostcrown harts and Cinderback ancients for prepared adventurers. Defeat different creatures to fill your Creature Journal, from familiar wildlife to rare cave monsters.
Out in the deep desert, far to the west, two doorways of dressed sandstone stand half buried in the dunes: the Ivory Tomb, where scarabs swarm, mummies sleep among the stone coffins and a giant scorpion nests, and the Sun Gate, a king’s tomb, where the Pharaoh wakes for anyone who comes near his golden coffin; below him a sand dragon sleeps on the king’s gold. Ali, who keeps the last well in Kingsrest, knows the way: The King Under the Sand.
