Boss respawns
Defeated bosses return at :00, :15, :30 and :45 each hour. Living bosses stay alive; the clock does not reset fights. Each lair keeps its own boss.
Where to find the Bone Sovereign
Each open graveyard crypt has its own Bone Sovereign on the lower floor. In the upper crypt, take the stairs on the eastern side of the deep hall. The northern landing on the lower floor is safe. Use the return stairs to climb back up.
A grounded skeleton fight
He stays on the ground. Step clear of the two bone-shock rings, move off the marked shadow blast and sidestep the forward soul torrent. Against distant fighters he throws three large bones down marked lanes after 1.6 seconds, then recalls them through those same lanes 1 second later. Sidestep or move into the unmarked inner space; stay clear until the bones return. Each pass hits you at most once, for 14.5–17.4% of warning health before armour reduction. The lanes lock when warned and never track you. At one-third health, his attacks become faster. Bring food, potions and a prepared group.
Independent quarter-hour respawns
Each crypt has its own boss and respawn timer. After defeat, its Bone Sovereign returns at the next :00, :15, :30 or :45, even if the kill was just before that time. A living boss is not duplicated.
Four rare skeletal rewards
Sovereign's skull helm requires Combat 80 and adds 16 armour. Sovereign's bone staff requires Magic 85: a two-handed staff with 48 bolt power, 40 percentage points of damage-spell power and 20 maximum mana. Equipping the staff restores no mana.
Sovereign's Bonebow requires Archery 85 and arrows. It adds 44 ranged attack and 20 maximum health. Equipping it restores no health.
Sovereign's Bone Reaper requires Melee 85. It is two-handed, adds 81 melee attack and 20 maximum health, and sweeps one extra nearby enemy for up to 35% on landed basic melee hits. Equipping it restores no health.
The helm, staff, bow and reaper each have an independent 0.09% chance per boss defeat (about 1 in 1,111). Each successful roll creates one item for one eligible fighter, chosen by contribution. More players do not create extra rolls. Several rewards can drop from the same defeat. None is sold by shops or crafted.
The fight in numbers
- Health: 69,722.
- His blow: 62–170 damage every 2.3 seconds, before armour and shield.
- Armour 30 · Defence 32.
- Soul torrent: 26–33% of warning health before armour reduction.
Grave ground
Every 2.7–4.4 seconds, at no set beat, patches of the floor turn to grave ground, where bony hands grasp at your feet, most often beside whoever fights him or where they are heading. Each is outlined in violet for 1.8 seconds first, then lasts 4–6.5 seconds. Only a tile that has turned hurts: 6–8% of your warning health as it turns, then 5% a second while you stand in it, and it holds your feet: you move 30% slower in it. From anywhere on the floor there is always a clear tile within 2 steps.
Back-line adds
During the fight, he calls risen bones up out of the grave ground: every 15–19 seconds (alone, every 24–30 seconds), beside randomly chosen fighters, including those in melee. The spots are framed on the ground for 1.7 seconds before they rise.
Alone, one comes at a call and at most 2 are about at once; with two or three fighters, 2 (at most 4); with four or more, 3 (at most 6).
Each bites for 3.5–4.5% of your warning health every 1.5 seconds and crumbles after 16 seconds, or at once when the boss falls or its fight ends. They give no loot, experience, coins or Journal entry and count for no hunting contract, quest or achievement. They fight back, so they build Rage and Focus.
Earning a share
Contribute at least 3% of the boss’s full health to qualify for loot. Damage counts, plus effective healing of other fighters for injuries caused by this boss. Keep actively helping and remain eligible when he falls. Rewards are rolled once per defeat and shared by contribution, rather than rolled again for every fighter.
Healers can also qualify through effective healing and Shelter protection: help at least three times over ten seconds, restoring or preventing 1% of the boss’s health, capped at twice your maximum health. Only help given to other fighters counts. Stay active in the encounter. Every reward, Legendary and Mythic finds too, is shared by contribution. The share is worked out from every fighter’s work, including those below the qualifying threshold; their portion is not redistributed. A fighter contributing 3% therefore earns about 3% of a solo kill’s expected reward, not a full extra loot roll. A larger group does not create a larger hoard.
Possible drops
- Bones · 12–20 · 81% once per kill, shared by contribution
- Gold coins · 1080–1680 · 81% once per kill for the whole hoard, divided among eligible contributors
- Greater health potion · 3–5 · 81% once per kill, shared by contribution
- Greater mana potion · 3–5 · 81% once per kill, shared by contribution
Legendary finds, rolled once a kill for one fighter:
- Sovereign's skull helm · 1 · 0.09% per kill
- Sovereign's bone staff · 1 · 0.09% per kill
- Sovereign's Bonebow · 1 · 0.09% per kill
- Sovereign's Bone Reaper · 1 · 0.09% per kill
- Tempering Stone · 1 · 0.203% per kill
Ordinary items, coins and rare finds come from one shared hoard. Contribution determines your share or your chance to receive a single item; the 3% threshold grants eligibility, not a full extra roll. Drop rolls are chances, not a promise per trip. Defeat it to record it in your in-game Creature Journal.
