Visit the Pet shop north of the bank, opposite the Paint shop. Browse the Pet keeper’s stock; pets are not sold at the General store.
Shiba Inus cost 2,500 GC, cats 1,000 GC, and larger pet wolves 4,000 GC. Shibas retain their red, black-and-tan and cream coats. Wolves have grey, charcoal and frost coats. Each companion keeps its own name, coat and collar; only one follows you at a time. Use the pet item in your bag to call your companion or send it home. Pets are companions rather than equipment or combat upgrades.
