How to get there: Across the sea east of Pinehame, by boat. The landing beach is on its west shore, facing the mainland, with a signpost at the foot of the trail.
A trail of laid stone climbs from the landing beach round and up the volcano’s cone, over the crater’s rim and down into its floor. Each lair’s entrance stands a few steps off it, with bones round it and a big red warning sign: on the lower slopes Nightmaw, Obsidian Hollow and Gloamstone Rift, each a black dragon’s (level 110); higher up Copperwell Cavern, Patina Vault and Brassfall Cavern, each a copper dragon’s (level 120); and where the trail ends, in the crater, the Ashen Throne, where Ashcrown (level 160) waits. There is only one Ashcrown.
Every lair is a boss fight, and every dragon notices you as you come in, whatever your level. Lesser guards keep each lair’s fore-cavern: cave yetis (level 60) before the black and copper dragons, baby ember dragons (level 56) before the Ashen Throne. Go with friends, food and a light.
Nothing else lives on the isle: ash, cinders and dead trees, with coal, iron and gold to mine on the way up. The dragons’ lairs · The wild lands over the sea
