At a glance
- Melee attack: 24
- Chopping speed vs bronze: 87%
- Bag: one item per slot
Worn as: weapon. Requires Woodcutting 70 · Requires Woodcutting 70 · Melee 40 only to fight with it.
- Chopping uses the best axe you can use, carried in your bag, on your tool belt or equipped: each works from its own Woodcutting level (bronze 1, iron 5, steel 15, silver 30, gold 40, Veilsteel 70). Melee requirements only apply to wielding it as a weapon. Tree Woodcutting requirements still apply. Faster strokes give more chances for logs; XP per log stays the same. The Smith sells axes through gold. Forge the Veilsteel axe from three Veilsteel bars at Smithing 82.
- Attack is weapon strength, not fixed damage. Your skill, character growth and the enemy’s defences affect each hit.
- Tools on your tool belt are always kept on death, including upgraded axes and pickaxes in PvP. Spare tools in your bag can drop in the PvP danger zone.
