Armour and shields work together against physical monster attacks, with diminishing returns. Better armour reduces damage, but heavy blows can still hurt. Armour is a protection rating, not a fixed amount subtracted from every hit. Spells and player attacks use different protection rules.
How to get it
Smithy: 2000 GC each.
Sell: 287 GC at the Smithy or Kitchen; 230 GC at the General store. Buying and selling prices differ.
