Open a nearby ground tile’s action menu and choose Build. The preview and server check the tile before placement.
Two tiles: the gate takes the tile you build on and the one beside it, a leaf on each. Rotate it in the preview to choose which way it runs and which side it opens to (the side of its crossbars). Open or close either leaf and both swing together; shut, it blocks the way like the palisade, and anyone may open it. Rotate a built gate to make it open to the other side; taking it apart takes down both leaves.
Move: open the action menu of one of its leaves, choose Move, select a nearby tile and confirm: that leaf goes there and the other beside it, with the usual building rules for both tiles, from beside the tile you chose. It does not swap places with other pieces. Paint and rotation are retained, the floors stay behind, and no materials are spent.
