Better armour reduces damage, but heavy blows can still hurt. Armour is a protection rating, not a fixed amount subtracted from every hit. Spells use their own protection rules.
- Rare: never sold and never made. Found only on the hardest creatures.

- Dropped by Ashen wraith — 0.01% per kill.
- Dropped by Vaelthar, the Hollow Crown — 0.606% once per kill, awarded to one eligible fighter.
Sell: 11250 GC at the Smithy or Kitchen; 9000 GC at the General store. Buying and selling prices differ.
