Melee mastery cape — in-game artwork

At a glance

  • Bonus melee attack: 4
  • Armour: 3
  • Bag: one item per slot

Worn as: cape. Requires Melee 99.

  • Earned at Melee 99: +4 melee attack and +3 armour. Wear one cape at a time. It replaces an armour set’s built-in cape visually; all armour bonuses stay unchanged.
  • Armour and shields work together against physical monster attacks, with diminishing returns. Better armour reduces damage, but heavy blows can still hurt. Armour is a protection rating, not a fixed amount subtracted from every hit. Spells and player attacks use different protection rules.

How to get it

  • Reach Melee level 99, then speak to Sir Vaelen, Master of Blades, at (6771, -2996) beside the dragon monument in Cindervow on Dragonspire Isle. The cape is free, grants +4 melee attack and +3 armour, and requires Melee 99 to wear. It cannot be traded. Bring one free bag slot; an existing cape in your gear, bag, bank, storage or backpacks must be retrieved instead.

A keepsake from your Melee mastery. It cannot be traded, sold, dropped or given away. Kept through death. Visit Sir Vaelen beside the dragon monument in Cindervow for a free replacement if it is lost. An existing copy in your worn gear, bag, bank, storage or backpacks must be retrieved instead.
